Virag's Movie Reviews: Taken 2 (2012)
Awww, this flick was kinda' sad. Neeson looked like he had a blast with the first one but not this time. Watching Taken 2, I got the feeling that Neeson may have decided a week into it that maybe he didn't like money as much as he first thought. Of course, the PG-13 thing fucked this up, too. There's no reason for cartoon violence to be rated anything but R. And the original ending was so much better; it was way more satisfying to have Neeson's character save the wife and then go back and spend the last half of the movie fucking obliterating the bad guys just for revenge. That's awesome. Too bad Megatron doesn't know shit about movies, or more likely the studio execs don't trust Megatron to order lunch on his own. Still, I think there's something left with the concept. Let Neeson and Luc Besson plan a year-long vacation all across southern Europe, and then make a series of hyper-violent, hard R, 70's style Taken flicks where Neeson's Bryan Mills character brutally fucks up and kills baddies in every prime vacation spot.
