They didn't even put the Kona in their weirdly lame new Field Test, so I guess Kona did not have the cash to put in the envelope that Pinkbike got with the test bike. Now, the Process X is not a terrible bike, but it is the typical wicked expensive for what you get modern Kona, making for an underwhelming choice these days. Plus. Kona nuking the last generation--last generation geometry, especially--Process 153 and replacing it with a longer and uglier aluminum-only update, didn't do the brand any favors. But when you see the sad new PB Field Test with the obvious payoff Speshy, Trek, and Giant bikes mixed in with a heinously ugly Ibis bike and a Rocky Mountain that definitely won't break this time along with some useless and/or unavailable filler, well, it makes you wonder why Kona doesn't get invited to the party anymore.
