Pelosi's Tremendous Defeat And Razor-Thin Majority In 2020 Gave The Progressives In The House Once-In-A-Lifetime Leverage, So Why Did It Take Jimmy Dore To Make It An Issue

Where were David Sirota and Sam Seder and AOC and the DSA and everyone else?  Me!  You!  The jackoff comedian made the possibility of getting something from Pelosi in exchange for another term as Speaker into a national issue.  Not Sirota.  Not Seder.  None of them.  But Jimmy Dore is the problem.

With a 40 or 50 seat majority, Pelosi would never care what any progressive wanted, but with a couple of seats at the most, AOC or Ilhan Omar or Ro Khanna and a friend or two could make sure that Pelosi is never Speaker again without the worry that Kevin McCarthy wins.  Same with Jeffries.  AOC could prevent his Speakership, too.

They could get something from Pelosi in exchange for their support.

If they wanted to.

If it mattered to them.

If they were less concerned about their careers in the House...
