The US Is So Fucked Because We Didn't Solve The Coronavirus Problem Last Spring

Now it's too late.  Way too fucking late.  We had one chance to crush this shit in March and April, but we didn't have the brains or the guts to it.  We were failed by leadership, and now we are failing each other, too.  If we could have been back to a semblance of normal by July 2020, with COVID under control after a total, 90-120 day shutdown with direct payments to everyone, this winter would be completely manageable for our healthcare delivery system and government.  But no.  We suck, and now we're fucked.
