I've said from the beginning of his national political career that Sanders would have been one of the boring, timid centrists barely tolerated in a true center-left party, but in DC he seems like a leftist. He never was. The center-left reform type people need to face up to the fact that two presidential campaigns in four years is not the way to get anything done.
Bottom-up is the only way to have a durable center-left movement supporting healthcare and environmental reforms and labor issues and equality and racism and everything else. But that's hard work. It's slow, and it doesn't pay very well at first, if ever. Gotta do a shit ton of work for a fuck ton of losing for a long fucking time till you get anywhere.
Bernie Sanders was always a Dem, and Dems are the biggest obstacle to centrist ideas like universal healthcare and living wage and all that shit.
And now you know that the Dems would rather lose to Trump twice than give Bernie Sanders a chance to improve the lives of poor people in the name of the Democratic Party even a tiny bit.
So, stop worrying about Sanders. His time is over.
And anyone who would cast a vote for Biden or for Trump is a vile, right-wing asshole who cannot be considered at all in the work of making this society more equitable. Both Biden and Trump voters should be shunned forever.
The work is hard and the road is long, so get on that shit. Today would be good. Step 1 is making sure Biden loses. Step 2 is everything else. Don't listen to anyone who tells you to vote for an arch-conservative racist rapist whether his name is Trump or Biden.
