Cycling: Where The Designers Don't Know Either

Cane Creek, hand made in a shed by people who are guessing.  Or something.  Anywho, given the (loose) manufacturing tolerances of plastic frames, aluminium frames, welded steel frames, and suspension fork components, the whole reduced offset thing is probably mostly in your head if you are the average "expert" out there.  Or a manufacturer, apparently.

Double-blind testing would probably not show most anyone's ability to discern between the standard and short offset on a selection of widely available mass-market plastic and aluminum frames on any consistent basis.  Maybe one girl out there would be Princess Pea, but I kinda doubt it.

All this is a mute point, because forks are only going to come in the one (reduced) offset going forward anyway, so whatevs.
