we know that for many years there's been no country here

i don't really believe that mohamed el-baradei thought that reassembling the culture and civilization in egypt was going to be easy; unless he was seriously deluded, he had to understand that creating an advanced, multicultural representative government from the relics in egypt was going to be a long and complex process.  el-baradei and the secular groups must resist any western calls to abandon elections if the religious parties win significant percentages.  the long game for freedom and human rights will not be won if egypt and her neighbors waste another half-century under the heel of the military and western corporate interests.
