red fuso max

this is another fuso max bike, red this time.  how many of these fuso max frames were there?  was every fuso a max frame?  of course not, but there was more than one!  i'm not loving the custom stem on this one.  or the half-chrome style, but the horizontal dropouts are proper.  and i don't think i agree with the aesthetic decisions made regarding the max head lugs, but it is a cool, and probably rare, instance of utilizing the original columbus max tubing on a lugged road frame by a classic frame builder.

interesting little fuso max custom frame from dave moulton's blog.  i like the color combo.  apparently light metallic purples are xtra-spiffy on lugged max frames.  he really nailed the seatstay attachment; it looks super smooth.  old-timey max fork uni-crown, too.
