amp research flexi flyer

though the concept lived in on bikes that were so much better, my initial test-rides on the various amp research bikes were scary, sloppy affairs.  the wiggly, broken impression you got from the rear-center on those things made me want turn around each and every time.  (hopelessly weird fork, too--kinda like with the halson inversion, you knew this was not gonna stick in the wider market.)  for years i would see one on the trails a couple of times each season and find myself amazed that those bikes worked really well for some riders.  interesting, useful idea with horrible execution.  that's probably why they sold out to specialized.
