intense uzzi sl

way back when a lifetime ago, these things were the best there was.  the uzzi sl was yet another frame with an inexcusably stupid and offensive name--i can only imagine how annoying it would have been to try to explain to these idiots that just maybe they shouldn't name their wicked fucking expensive pieces of outdoor recreation equipment after terror weapons--but this was the first full-suspension frame that worked as well as you wanted it to.  there were some running changes with the linkage and headtube gussets on these as the bigger all-around uzzi slx took over, but if you owned this bike, with all of the adjustability and ball-bearing pivots, you had no excuse not to ride the shit out of it for years and years.  every single time i got to jump on one of these, i was surprised at just how well it rode.  great bike, horrible name.
