merlin's dead? is this news?

discussions aside, did anyone not think that merlin metalworks died and rotted as soon as they were sold off and moved?  a big-time titanium production company isn't gonna happen, and one-off, bespoke custom is a huge pain in the ass better suited to a wicked small company or one-man shop, so i'm not sure what the surprise is.
