like that stupid super-v with the bomber, the rivendell road standard is one bike i wished i'd scooped up when i was young and dumb; it was such a wicked deal, and even though richard sachs has disavowed those rb-0 lugs, i thought they were interesting at the time--not sure how they would have aged though. i liked the fork crown and could have done without the weird headtube extension. what i really wanted the riv road std. to be of course was a super-nice bridgestone rb-1. in fact, i still do. if rivendell would only copy the rb-1 geometry and handling with modern tubing and lugs and shit and a waterford build, that would be worth 2 grand for a the frameset in 2012. the roadeo just doesn't cut it: geometry is not great; stupid brakes; no dt shifter bosses; clearance no road rider needs; dumb fucking name. seriously, bring back the rb-1 as a product and grant petersen could retire in a year. those roadeo's are made to order, so what the fuck would be so tough about offering the stock rb-1 geometry as an option? eyelets or no. std. or med. brakes. ergo or dt shifters. it would be too fucking easy and would make too much sense, so it will never happen. always wanted that riv. road std., but if it had been a true rb-0, i'd be really pissed now.
