I Have A Hard Time Understanding Why The Ivy League Allowed Dartmouth To Drop Swimming

Swimming is a sport with a great tradition in the Ivy League, even if Dartmouth was always the weakest program.  But the Ivies are all about a certain super fancy, super smart, super luxurious, best-of-everything, best-of-the-best, better than you mythos which is complete horseshit in reality but is vital to their credibility; one of the their group dropping their swimming program is a huge fucking blow to that absurd fable.  This is a big fucking deal.  Dartmouth's endowment is something like $6 billion, so they didn't have to do this, but instead wanted to make their institution look shabby.  Big mistake.  If enough people come to see the Ivies for what they really are, well, Harvard and Yale especially are totally fucked, and Princeton and Dartmouth will suffer inordinately, too.  Reality is not a friend to the Ivy League, and this ghetto move by Dartmouth is a problem for the whole rotten bunch.
