650B or 27.5": Remember When 24" Was The Next Big Thing?

I do.  I remember the Arrow Two-Four bikes and all the 24" wheeled downhill bikes and how the 24" wheel was THE NEXT BIG THING.  I also remember when Mountain Bike Action published a satire about 25" wheels.  I don't know, but the 27.5" wheel thing seems like bullshit to me.  I don't much like 700C wheels on mountain bikes, but they seem to work okay for mild cross country and fire road rides, but there's no way you need an intermediate step between the rockin' 26" wheel and the 29er big wheel bikes.
