Marathon, Man

I would not at all be surprised if the final nudge didn't come from the Obama campaign.  The optics were fucking awful; with all the shit still floating around the five boroughs, putting on a swanky party for a bunch of eurotrash douchebags was not going to play well in the voting booth.  Bloomberg cannot help but show what a fucking muttonhead he really is by resisting the calls to focus on the relief and recovery effort, and it is very likely the Obama campaign is happy with the way this finally played out.
