Don't Raise The Medicare Age, Lower It

Raising the Medicare eligibility age is not only bad policy and bad politics, it is evil.  Instead, we should be lowering the age over time in order to contain costs and increase access to healthcare and save lives!  Krugman's sense that the deal may very well fall into the stupid and evil category is probably spot-on.  Obama keeps trying to sell out his party and the rest of the American people, but the idiot Republicans are making it too difficult.  This begs the question once again: where are the smart politicians who are also decent people to push the idea of increasing access to healthcare, efficient and universal healthcare, in order to make America a smarter and better society and win elections against fucking morons?
