I'm pretty sure that for a minute there at the beginning before they were full custom and shit, Rivendell Road stock frames were almost an RB-1, pretty close to an RB-1, almost a classic racy bike like the RB-1, and I'm pretty sure that the turquoise blue metallic was almost the Rivendell standard color. That blue, whether it was the Waterford version or the Joe Bell version, is an excellent color for a road bike, and probably the second best blue for a road bike ever.
If only, if only. If only I could get that fucking time machine working. If only Grant Petersen had been a decade younger and still been in the mood for real road bikes when he designed the original Riv road frames. If only Rivendell would do a run of RB-Riv frames for obstinate and boring fuckers like myself. That would be fine, just fine.
